Valkyrie Archery wasn’t born out of a desire to just hit targets; it was born to create a space where the ancient spirit of the warrior meets the modern need for focus. Today, as we launch our new digital home, I wanted to share the "why" behind the bow and what you can expect from our sanctuary in the hills.

More Than a Range: The Story of The Nest

When we created The Nest, our ground archery range in Dumfries and Galloway, we didn't want a flat, clinical shooting line. We wanted a sanctuary.

Whether you are visiting for archery lessons or a quiet hour of lane hire, The Nest is designed to be a place of recalibration. Traditional archery is a "moving meditation." It requires a steady hand, a clear breath, and a sharp mind. It is about the raw connection between the archer, the wooden bow, and the flight of the arrow—no sights, no pulleys, just instinct.

From the Ground to the Saddle

For many of our tribe, the journey starts on the ground but doesn't end there. Our specialised Mounted Archery clinics in Braco, Hexham, and Lockerbie take that foundation of focus and add the dynamic challenge of the horse.

Mastering horseback archery is the ultimate partnership. It requires a deep trust between horse and rider and a level of "blind" confidence in your equipment. By bridging the gap between ground sanctuary and mounted intensity, we offer a path for every kind of warrior.
